WHAT WE'LL BE DOING
Youth Code Jam is a semi-unstructured, individualized-learning, creativity-inspiring experience for students of any computer science level. When kids and parents arrive, there will be multiple stations. Review the stations with a volunteer, then take off and explore whichever stations your student selects. There is no agenda, no requirements, and no time limit. This allows students to work on the projects she or he finds most interesting, and do so for as little or as long as they like. Each station will have volunteers to guide students and parents on how to use the tool and provide support as you dive in!
WHAT TO BRING
You will need to bring your own laptop. If you have other electronic devices you feel comfortable bringing, such as a tablet or smart phone, please do as your student might find something interesting to do with them.
Please note that an adult (preferably a parent or guardian) must stay with their student during this event. This is a collaborative experience and a chance to explore technology with your children. And it's fun for parents, too!
